Rob Amar, MD of RH Amar

RH Amar is "delighted" to have retained its Best Companies 3* accreditation. In addition, the family-owned company has maintained its position in the Best Small Companies Top 100, and South East Companies Top 100 lists, as well as being featured in the new Food & Drink Top 10 Companies.

RH Amar is one of the UK’s leading full-service importers, distributors and brand builders of ambient fine foods. The company represents over 40 branded suppliers from around the world, including well-known brands like Del Monte, Crespo, Schwartz, Kikkoman, Nando’s and Ella’s Kitchen, as well as many smaller brands.

In addition the company also own four brands – Cooks&Co, Mary Berry’s, Camp and The Original Waffle Company – and has a thriving private label business. RH Amar supplies

all UK grocery channels – multiples, convenience, online, wholesale, foodservice, B2B and

independents.

These awards are highly sought after, and are based on anonymous feedback from employees across eight engagement factors: My Company, Leadership, My Manager, My Team, Personal Growth, Fair Deal, Wellbeing, and Giving Something Back.

RH Amar said it has sought to develop a culture with colleague engagement at the forefront. These awards are testament to the success so far of this approach. The company improved its score on all eight engagement factors compared to the previous survey, and this high level of engagement is further reflected in its extraordinary staff retention figures, with one third having been with the company for over 10 years, and 20 colleagues passing the 15 year milestone.

“Although we are so grateful and absolutely thrilled that we have achieved this recognition, especially after the past year with all its challenges and new ways of working, it is not a case of ‘job done’," said MD Rob Amar. "This is something we will continue to build upon year after year. This colleague passion and commitment has been a major contributing factor to the company continuing to deliver a fantastic service to its brand partners and customers."
