A vacant shop unit on a busy road in Reading could soon be brought back to life amid new plans.

The Signarama sign shop in Basingstoke Road, Katesgrove sold a range of different brand signage for businesses, shops, events and more uses.

But the sign shop closed back in September, clearing the way for the property to be converted into a convenience store.

Harmon Singh Gaba has applied to convert Signarama into a Nisa Local, which will sell groceries, snacks and drinks to customers once open.

In order for Mr Singh Gaba to sell alcohol from the building, he will need a licence from Reading Borough Council.

In full, he has applied to sell alcohol off the premises from 7am to 11pm each day.

Nisa has three other stores in Reading, located in Caversham Road, London Road and Wokingham Road in Earley.
