Retailer sales boost as EuroMillions jackpot reaches £133 million

Retailer sales boost as EuroMillions jackpot reaches £133 million

Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, is forecasting a huge boost in sales for National Lottery retailers ahead of tonight’s whopping £133 million EuroMillions jackpot draw.

With the EuroMillions jackpot not reaching such dizzy heights since mid-June, National Lottery players will be heading out to stores to get involved in the mega jackpot action – and retailers could benefit from as much as a 66 per cent * sales uplift from the draw.

A single UK winner would land a spot on the exclusive National Lottery’s Rich List, and immediately become The National Lottery’s seventh biggest** winner of all time. This ground-breaking jackpot would instantly make a single UK winner richer than music icon and "Die with a Smile" singer Bruno Mars, who is worth an estimated £131 million (according to Celebrity Net Worth).

To support retail sales in the lead up to the draw, Allwyn has sent out special EuroMillions point of sale posters to tens of thousands National Lottery retailers promoting the enormous jackpot on offer.

National Lottery retailers can help boost sales by ensuring that the poster is sited in a prominent position, reminding customers about the huge jackpot, and suggesting they buy a EuroMillions Lucky Dip at the till.

“This Friday promises to be a spectacular sales opportunity for our retail partners, with a mega EuroMillions jackpot up for grabs," said James Dunbar, Allwyn’s Head of Retail Channels. "We know National Lottery players love a huge rolling EuroMillions jackpot and will be heading out to stores around the UK in their masses to grab a piece of the action!

“By supporting sales for the draw, retailers will be helping National Lottery players continue raising around £30 million each and every week for National Lottery Good Causes.”

*Based on 14 June £136M jackpot EuroMillions draw versus base sales on 17 May
**Depending on the jackpot amount at time of draw and exchange rate.
