Retailers set to strike gold with new Wispa Gold limited-edition

Cadbury is unveiling a new limited-edition flavour for its popular Wispa Gold range: Salted Caramel. The new flavour will be available to order in a single 45g bar from August, helping retailers to drive confectionery sales in late summer and beyond with this beloved flavour.

The Wispa range is a favourite with shoppers across the UK; in fact, it’s the third biggest brand within the Cadbury range after Cadbury Dairy Milk and Cadbury Twirl. To help ensure its success in store by creating a real launch buzz, Wispa will be shouting about the new limited edition through in-store activity, online advertising and PR.

“Wispa Gold Salted Caramel is the latest way in which Wispa is delivering value to the singles category through innovation," said Kelly Souli, brand manager for Cadbury Singles at Mondelēz International. "On-trend and relevant new flavours are a key growth driver in chocolate, accounting for 28 per cent of category growth and attracting incremental younger adult consumers. And that’s at the heart of the Wispa proposition, keeping the brand fresh with limited editions that draw consumers back to the brand again and again.

“This latest limited-edition launch is particularly exciting. Salted caramel is a top 5 NPD flavour in chocolate, and it’s also the highest performing flavour across all demographics in consumer testing in relation to Wispa. So we are very confident that this new bar will help retailers bring something relevant and exciting to confectionery shoppers this year!”

Historically, savoury crackers have been the unsung heroes of the lunchbox or cheeseboard, paying the role of humble sidekick to whatever cheeses, chutneys or pickles might be on display.
