Sharwood's launches exclusive competition for independent retailers

Sharwood’s, the number one Indian brand in independents1, is celebrating National Curry Week (2nd- 8th October) by launching a new and exclusive competition for independent retailers across the UK to win a meal for their local community. Two retailers will have the opportunity to host a meal to bring their customers together, all catered for by Sharwood’s.

Each winning retailer will get to host a community meal in their local area for up to 30 people, which will see a delicious lunch or dinner made by Premier Foods’ in-house chefs. All of the elements needed to host the meal including the venue and refreshments will also be provided by Sharwood’s. Guests will be invited to enjoy Sharwood’s delicious range of Indian food, with the meal to be created using a variety of cooking sauces and accompaniments, that can be recreated easily at home.

Courtney Lewis, Customer Director for Discounters, Spar and Wholesale at Premier Foods, said “Our latest competition will give retailers a chance to create an unforgettable experience for their neighbourhood. Convenience stores are integral to their communities, and we want to help retailers give back to their shoppers to help celebrate this year’s National Curry Week. The Sharwood’s brand looks to bring people together on a taste adventure, and we want to demonstrate our continued commitment to supporting the channel through this initiative.”

“It’s important for us to help independent retailers maximise calendar events such as National Curry Week and the meal for tonight opportunity continues to be a key mission for those shopping in their local convenience store for easy and great tasting dinners. We encourage retailers to keep this in mind not just during National Curry Week but all year round, offering cross category promotions and stocking the Sharwood’s range to fulfil consumers’ needs when looking to create a meal at home”.

The competition is open to all independent retailers who are members of Unitas and Bestway. To enter, retailers simply need to buy one case of any Sharwood’s products between 15th September and 12th October from Bestway, or between 18th September and 8th October 2023 from Unitas and fill in an online entry form. They must then fill in their details on the specific customer webpage, links to these pages, as well as the full terms & conditions can be found on www.grocerypartners.co.uk/whats-new/sharwoodscommunitymeal.
