*shopt unveils new Refer a Friend Scheme

*shopt unveils new Refer a Friend Scheme

Leading cash rewards app for convenience retailers, *shopt, has officially launched its new Refer a Friend scheme, designed to help engage retailers and recruit new users to the app.

This new initiative allows retailers to earn rewards by referring fellow convenience store owners to the platform, driving growth and building a stronger community within the industry.

The scheme was unveiled at an exclusive event at Sky Garden in Birmingham’s Resort World, attended by a select group of leading convenience retailers. The event provided an opportunity for retailers to offer valuable feedback, share experiences, and learn more about the benefits of the Refer a Friend scheme.

It also encouraged existing *shopt users to invite fellow retailers who had not yet joined the platform, giving newcomers a chance to explore *shopt’s powerful tools and resources.

The event provided a unique opportunity for retailers from across the country to engage directly with *shopt's team, share their thoughts on the platform, and offer insights into the challenges and opportunities they face. This collaborative session underpins *shopt's commitment to placing retailers at the heart of its product development and continuous innovation. Atul Sodha, Londis Harefield comments: “*shopt listen, if you go to them with an issue, they find you a good solution and I like the two-way conversation that we’ve got.”

In addition to welcoming retailers, *shopt invited key brands it partners with, allowing attendees to speak directly to brand representatives, explore new products, and discuss partnership opportunities. The event featured interactive breakout sessions that allowed retailers to share their experiences in smaller groups, enabling deeper discussions about their unique challenges and insights.

Avtar Sidhu, St John’s Budgens comments: “I think today has been fantastic, from the brands that came in, to the whole format with the groups and the pods. It gave us the opportunity to have real close dialogue and to hear the relevancy of their journey on *shopt itself and how we can engage on the app. It was also great to speak to *shopt and see where they are today and the evolution of the app and how we can all help improve it.”

Alexa Hester, head of marketing and engagement at *shopt, comments: “We’re always looking for ways to support local retailers and the new Refer a Friend scheme offers users the chance to share the benefits of *shopt—and earn up to £1000 referral bonus. Simply by referring another retailer to the app, users can unlock cash rewards. Once the referred retailer registers and begins claiming rewards, both parties receive a cash bonus, which is automatically added to their wallets.

The event was a fantastic opportunity to connect with retailers and hear their thoughts, as well as discuss how we can further enhance our offerings.”

Trudy Davies of Woosnam and Davies News says: “I use *shopt on a very regular basis, we get rewarded for taking photos and watching videos. If you haven’t got *shopt, I’d urge you to download the app today!”

The *shopt app's new Refer a Friend scheme launched earlier this month, offering users exciting rewards for sharing the platform with fellow retailers.
