Skwishee announces return of ‘Bring Your Own Cup Day’ event

Frozen fizzy drinks brand Skwishee have announced their "Bring Your Cup Day" event is making a return this summer on Saturday 29 July. The event is anticipated to welcome thousands of Skwishee fans bringing their own cup to stores across the country.

Skwishee encourages customers to get creative with their container of choice and fill up their favourite cup, fishbowl, astronaut helmet or something even wackier for £2.49 at over 200 partner stores. Alongside the promotion, customers could be in with a chance of winning a year’s worth of Free Skwishee for submitting their selfies with the hashtag #skwisheebyoc and tagging Skwishee on social media.

“Skwishee is the only frozen drinks company that holds nationwide events such as Bring Your Own Cup Day and Free Skwishee Day. We are truly invested in driving footfall into our partner stores, creating enhanced brand exposure for Skwishee, and encouraging new customers into the stores through the hype of nationwide marketing” said Skwishee boss, Raza Rehman.

Both Free Skwishee Day and Bring Your Own Cup Day are free to the retailer and paid for by Skwishee. “Coming from a retail background ourselves, we know what it takes to help our stockists stand out and become destination stores, event-led marketing is what makes us disruptive in this industry” added Rehman.

Here’s what customers need to know about BYOC Day:

  • Customers will pay £2.49 to bring their own container on Saturday 29th of July from 10 am until 7 pm.
  • The container must be watertight (no crying over spilt Skwishee)
  • The container must be food-safe and clean (make sure to give that KFC bucket a wipe-down)
  • The container must fit within the 20cm cutout in-store (so it can fit under the dispenser: size matters!)

Skwishee’s current flavour line-up includes Frozen Raspberry, Mad Mango, Wild Cherry and Redberrylicious, with a host of new flavours launching this year.

Gnaw ‘new-stalgia’: pud-themed Chocolate Spoons and flavoured choc bars

Tapping into “new-stalgia” (an anticipated hot food trend in 2025), Gnaw has been working tirelessly to rethink Great British puddings by creating a number of “Hug in a Mug” classics (Crème Brulée, Bakewell Tart, Sticky Toffee Pud) in conjunction with an impressive “pudfolio” of dessert-flavoured bars: New York Cheesecake, Christmas Pudding, Banoffee Pie and Sticky Toffee Pudding.

Desserts may prove divisive. For many the last course will always be a fitting finale to a great meal spent with friends of family, enticing comfort food that offers a nostalgic peek into happy custard drenched, ice cream topped memories from yesteryear. For others, desserts are an unwitting dalliance with guilt-filled soft sponges, buttery pastry, seductively sweet fillings, crumbly toppings, sticky sauces …
