SPAR Lawthorn reopens after major refurb

A SPAR store in Lawthorn, near Irvine, North Ayrshire has received a brand new look and feel after being refitted.

The 1,646sq ft SPAR store has been fully refurbished and now displays new energy efficient refrigeration, new shelving, flooring, ceiling, lighting and internal and external graphics. The food-to-go offering has also been expanded to include an enhanced hot foods offer.


The store is owned and operated by C J Lang & Son Ltd, the award-winning Dundee based retailer and wholesaler for SPAR in Scotland.

Local residents and shoppers were treated to a relaunch party to support the unveiling on Feb 16. Shoppers enjoyed a fun day in the store with a face-painter and the iconic SPAR spinning wheel was on hand to give-away 100 goody bags and a variety of prizes including SPAR shopping vouchers. Browning’s the bakers provided shoppers with tasty free product samples. In addition, there were special offers on a host of SPAR own label products and leading branded daily essential food and drink items.

The store also offers shoppers a host of great value deals on key food and drink items. Available are SPAR own label white bread £1, SPAR Eggs (6) £1, Connolly’s Bacon £1 and 2ltr Graham’s Light and Low milk for £1.27. In addition to this, SPAR Scotland provides value on your doorstep through multiple promotions as well as stocking well loved local products.

SPAR Scotland is passionate about nurturing the neighbourhoods and supporting the communities its stores operate in. Two local good causes were recipients of this generosity and were presented with donations. A donation of £500 was made to Lawthorn Primary School and £500 worth of SPAR vouchers were given to the foodbank and Warm Spaces at The Girdle Toll Parish Church.

SPAR Lawthorn is located at Cardow Crescent, Lawthorn, Irvine KA11 2DH and is open between 7am-10pm Monday-Saturday. 8am-10pm Sunday.
