SPAR UK to activate new retailer recruitment incentive

Leading symbol group SPAR UK is participating in the upcoming National Convenience Show (NCS) in Birmingham from 29 April to 1 May 2024.

NCS is the biggest event for the convenience sector bringing together key innovators to showcase the latest trends and developments.


At stand Q40, SPAR UK will unveil details of its most recent retailer recruitment opportunity, designed to encourage forward thinking independent retailers to join SPAR. The symbol group is offering independent retailers from England, Scotland and Wales, who join SPAR, £100,000 worth of free stock (subject to terms & conditions).

Ian Taylor, SPAR UK Retail Director, said, “We are thrilled to be exhibiting at NCS and look forward to meeting independent retailers looking to grow and develop their business with SPAR. 1,100 unsafe soft drinks seized in Southend safety crackdown

Southend-on-Sea City Council officials have secured food condemnation orders from Chelmsford Magistrates Court, resulting in the seizure and destruction of 1,100 unauthorised soft drinks.

The condemned drinks, including Mountain Dew, 7-UP, Mirinda, and G Fuel energy drinks, were found during routine inspections of food businesses across Southend by the council’s environmental health officers.
