Staff threatened by robber at Portsmouth Spar store

Shop staff was threatened during a robbery in a Portsmouth store last week.

The offender has entered the Spar store on London Road at around 9.15pm on 15 May and taken cash from a till, threatening a staff member. No-one was injured.


Officers have issued a witness appeal, saying they would like to hear from two men who were seen in the area at the time.

The first man is described as white, approximately 5 foot 9 inches tall, slim build, wearing a black jacket, black trousers, black trainers with white soles, a dark face covering and possibly also wearing a black beanie hat and spoke with a local accent

The second man is also white, approximately 20-years-old, blonde hair, wearing black clothing and in possession of two mountain bikes,

“We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen or heard anything that could assist our enquiries,” Hampshire Police said in a statement.
