Swan rolls out new Flavour Fusion Cards

Swan rolls out new Flavour Fusion Cards

Republic Technologies has unveiled a new range of Flavour Fusion Cards under its leading filter brand Swan.

Available from February, the cards will enable consumers to create their own level of flavour in a packet of cigarettes or roll-your-own tobacco in just 30 minutes.

The range includes two variants, Fresh Burst and Menthol (RRP: 39p per card), with each outer contains 25 individual cards.

“Following the change in legislation last May, we have seen a significant number of consumers looking for flavour alternatives to menthol cigarettes,” commented Gavin Anderson, head of sales at Republic Technologies (UK) Ltd.

“Building on the successful launch of our Swan Crushball Menthol capsule filters last Spring, our new Flavour Fusion Cards will enable retailers to offer shoppers even more choice in flavour and format. The cards will also provide smokers with the ultimate in flavour impregnation.”

The tobacco accessories market is currently worth more than £300 million and growing at 3.1 per cent, and the flavour card sub-category is set to deliver £18m annual sales, according to IRI figures.

“The iconic Swan brand is a beacon within the tobacco accessories category and is synonymous with quality and value. Our Swan Fresh Burst Crushball filter is already the best performing menthol capsule filter in the market [1], less than one year after launch, and we’re confident that this latest product innovation will enable retailers to drive sales within their tobacco accessories fixture,” Anderson added.

Gnaw ‘new-stalgia’: pud-themed Chocolate Spoons and flavoured choc bars

Tapping into “new-stalgia” (an anticipated hot food trend in 2025), Gnaw has been working tirelessly to rethink Great British puddings by creating a number of “Hug in a Mug” classics (Crème Brulée, Bakewell Tart, Sticky Toffee Pud) in conjunction with an impressive “pudfolio” of dessert-flavoured bars: New York Cheesecake, Christmas Pudding, Banoffee Pie and Sticky Toffee Pudding.

Desserts may prove divisive. For many the last course will always be a fitting finale to a great meal spent with friends of family, enticing comfort food that offers a nostalgic peek into happy custard drenched, ice cream topped memories from yesteryear. For others, desserts are an unwitting dalliance with guilt-filled soft sponges, buttery pastry, seductively sweet fillings, crumbly toppings, sticky sauces …
