Confectionery wholesaler SoSweet's recently launched delivered wholesale model, that also offers some great margins for convenience retailers, is seeing an uplifting response.

Launched in May, SoSweet Direct is a brand-new delivered wholesale distribution model that offers a complete direct-to-store sweets and snacks solution, effectively modernising the traditional van-sales model that is known by so many retailers.

After just eight full trading weeks, SoSweet Direct already serves over 100 stores across Devon, Cornwall, Dorset, Somerset and Bristol with its team of two sales reps. Plans are in place to grow this team to five sales reps by the end of the year as the number of accounts increases. SoSweet has ambitions to grow its direct-to-store service nationally.

The service offers free delivery on all orders over £400 (ex VAT) with no minimum order requirements. The model is currently available across the South West of England.

The range available to SoSweet Direct customers include brands such as Bazooka, Lays, Cheetos, Vidal, Sweetzone, Haribo, Swizzels and many more. The range also includes many seasonal products, for example, rock and seaside sweets, to cater for all areas.

Apart from this wide range, SoSweet Direct customers can also benefit from competitive prices that in turn offer them strong margins across the board. Each customer get to have their own dedicated sales representative who visits their store regularly to curate their range, merchandise their store and take an order.

Regular promotions on best-selling products and brands are available as well as support with marketing and POS from SoSweet's in-house marketing team. A unique advantage that SoSweet can offer to its customers is their many years of experience as being retailers themselves, thus offering retail solutions and well-rounded support to help drive sales even further.

SoSweet is a family-run specialist confectionery business based in the South West of England. Since its launch in 2014, SoSweet has grown to 15 of its own retail stores across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset.

The stores offer a diverse range of Pick'n'Mix, American imported products, as well as retro and timeless classics.

As well as their retail stores, SoSweet also has a huge online presence with over a million followers across their social media channels and dominates the sweets and snacks category on TikTok Shop.

In 2024, SoSweet decided that launching its wholesale offering was a main focus for the business, with the introduction of its online delivered wholesale website and, the newest arm to the business SoSweet Direct.

Launched at the beginning of May, SoSweet Direct is led by SoSweet's newest Business Development Manager Richard Beard, who comes with a wealth of knowledge and over 19 years of experience in the confectionery industry.
