Swizzels new Squashies packaging inspired by Despicable Me 4

Swizzels new Squashies packaging inspired by Despicable Me 4

Swizzels has collaborated with Universal Products & Experiences to redesign the packaging for its Minions-themed Squashies, drawing inspiration from Illumination’s latest film, Despicable Me 4, hitting UK cinemas on 12th July 2024.

Initially launched in 2022, the Minions Banana & Blueberry Squashies have steadily grown in popularity, proving lucrative for retailers. This success has prompted Swizzels to evolve the packaging in time for the latest film’s release, now featuring three different Minion character designs.

Available in 120g bags, the Minions-themed Squashies are offered in price-marked packs 110g (RSP: £1.15) and come in 12 cases per SRP.

Retailers and wholesalers can maximise sales with vibrant seasonal displays provided by the sweet maker, themed around Illumination’s latest film in the world’s most successful animated franchise.

Swizzels’ Minions range includes:

Minions Banana & Blueberry Squashies

Classic Banana & Blueberry flavoured Squashies, now available in three different Minion character designs, and presented in blue-and-yellow striped packaging to imitate the Minions in their iconic outfits.

Minions Tropical Chew Bars

Launched in 2022, the product features two tropical flavours: Peach & Passionfruit and Mango & Pineapple. Vegan-friendly, the chew bars are presented in bright, modern packaging that features a different Minion on each individual chew bar.

Retailers can purchase the product in 120g packs in cases of 12, PMP. RSP £1.15 per hanging bag.

Minions Tropical Fizz Individual Chew Bar

Minions Tropical Fizz individual chew bars are available to purchase with an RSP of 15p. Vegan-friendly, the product features a surprise sherbet centre encased in a tropical-flavoured chew.

Minions Sherbet Dips

Launched last year, Minions Sherbet Dip comprises three flavours: Fizzy Orange, Sour Apple and Tangy Berry, with a classic Swizzelstick for dipping.

Retailers can purchase the three-flavoured Dips – which are vegan-friendly - in 23g sachets in cases of 36 per SRP, with an RRP of 50p per sachet.

To coincide with the film launch, Swizzels is running an engaging social media campaign throughout the summer, targeting consumers with over 25 million Opportunities To See (OTS) and offering them a chance to win an abroad vacation of their choice.

Pernod Ricard UK ignites festive spirit with marketing push

Pernod Ricard UK ignites festive spirit with marketing push

As December rapidly approaches, Pernod Ricard UK is ramping up its festive marketing efforts, anticipating a resurgence in consumer confidence after a challenging year. The UK’s second-largest wine and spirits supplier is set to inspire consumers to choose Premium+ Spirits as the perfect gift or the ultimate addition to any home celebration. Throughout 2024, Premium+ Spirits have consistently outperformed Standard offerings, making this higher end of the sector a vital margin driver.

“Since last Christmas, consumer confidence has been on the rise and the outlook for the final month of 2024 is positive," said Chris Shead, Off-Trade Channel Director for Pernod Ricard UK. "Gifting and hosting remain two key trends and retailers should focus on increasing space in-store for Premium Spirits that act as the perfect gift or cocktail ingredient when wanting to show off in front of friends and family. Where possible, we encourage retailers to prioritise categories that have been capturing the hearts of consumers and this year, our big winners have been Altos Tequila, Kahlúa and Bumbu Rum, and we expect our Champagnes, G.H. Mumm and Perrier-Jouët, to be the toast of choice for festive parties this year.”
