Symington's launches direct to consumer buying platform

Leading branded meal and snack manufacturer Symington’s has launched its own direct to consumer platform following a huge uplift in consumer demand from the coronavirus pandemic.

Going live on Monday, 17th August, Symington’s To You will provide convenient access to the company’s best loved brands, Mug Shot and Naked, without the need to leave home.

The site will offer five bundles available to purchase each priced at: £10 plus postage and packaging to UK mainland.

From the 26th August, NHS, emergency services, social care workers and armed forces professionals will receive a 20% discount on all orders through a partnership with Blue Light Card.

David Cox, CEO at Symington’s, said: “We’ve seen some major changes to the landscape of retail since COVID-19 hit, with many consumers turning to online shopping for their everyday essentials and more.

“Now that lockdown is easing and demand for our brands remains strong, it feels like the perfect time to launch our direct to consumer platform.

“It’s become clear in recent months that there is plenty of space for brands to move into the direct to consumer market while continuing to work in partnership with retailers, so we are looking forward to seeing how consumers respond to our offering given the demand we’ve been experiencing.

“At launch we’ll be concentrating on our consumer favourite best sellers then introducing new products and innovation in the future.”

Summary
1. One in five people who have successfully quit smoking in England currently vape, with an estimated 2.2 million individuals using e-cigarettes as a smoking cessation tool.

3. While vaping may be a less harmful option compared to smoking, there are concerns about the potential long-term implications of vaping on relapse risk and nicotine addiction. Further research is needed to assess the impact of vaping on smoking cessation outcomes.
