Tetley owner Tata Consumer Products appoints new UK head
David Atkinson

Tata Consumer Products (TCP) has announced the appointment of David Atkinson as Senior Vice President and Head UK & Ireland.

Formerly Managing Director Grocery at Hain Daniels Group, Atkinson brings considerable experience of building and nurturing consumer and challenger brands to TCP, which at an exciting juncture of its growth journey.


The company is bringing together its three core brands of Tetley, teapigs and Good Earth under one roof for the first time, with teapigs marketing and sales teams reporting to Atkinson.

“We are at a moment of great opportunity for our tea brands. With change and uncertainty all around us, established household names provide a safe-haven for the everyday essential spend, with our more specialist brands offering an affordable and welcome indulgence as we buckle down for what is going to be a tough winter for many,” Atkinson commented.

“Tata Consumer Products has big plans for growth which I will be working with the team to deliver at pace. Innovation and consumer experience will be at the core of everything we do and I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead.”

Atkinson will report to Gharry Eccles, the President of the International Business at TCP.

‘Grocery tax’ to add £56 to food bills

The upcoming “grocery tax” could hit hard-pressed Britons in the pocket, adding up to £56 annually to household shopping bills and costing families as much as £1.4 billion a year, state reports on Sunday (22) citing a recent analysis.
