On Thursday 22 June, popular ready-to-drink brand VK is sweetening up fans’ summers with a VK Ices Van tour across the UK as part of their #WEARESUMMER campaign.

VK, the no.1 pre-mixed drink for students eight years running, is celebrating summer, giving away four per cent ABV alcoholic ice lollies made with two of their most popular flavours.

Fans in London that day will be able to get their hands on VK Blue and VK Orange & Passionfruit alcoholic ice lollies – the perfect treat on a hot summer’s day.

The Potters Fields Park pop-up is from 12PM – 2PM, and features a DJ spinning classic club tunes and merch to giveaway including bucket hats and sunglasses, alongside free VK Ices.

To get your free VK alcoholic ice lolly, you must be 18 or over. Customers will be able to get one free VK Ice lolly each.

If you can’t make the date, the VK Ices Van is also popping up in other cities this summer with the next stop at CONTENT Liverpool on the 7 July. Follow @vkdrink on Instagram to be the first to hear about upcoming tour dates.

“We are thrilled to reveal the first appearance of our alcoholic VK Ices Van as part of our #WEASRESUMMER campaign, and this is the first ever chance to try our limited-edition VK Ices,” said Charlie Leaver, Head of Brand at Global Brands. “These alcoholic ice lollies are made with all of the fruity fun and vibes of two of our best-selling flavours – VK Blue and VK Orange & Passionfruit – and are sure to be a hit across exclusive dates this summer.

“Head over to Potters Fields Park on Thursday 22 June and celebrate summer with VK!”

VK recently launched a new zero sugar range, stocked in Tesco for £1.75 a can. VK & SODA is a light and bubbly drink with two fruity flavours available – VK & SODA Berries, a lower calorie version of ‘Blue’, the UK’s best-selling pre-mixed drink flavour, and VK & SODA Lime, a glow up of the iconic vodka, lime, and soda.

Each 330ml can contains 69 calories, fewer than the iconic VK range, and zero sugar.

Last month, VK revealed a competition to win a year’s supply of footwear with schuh. The brand also recently revealed the VK Flavour Vault – a way for subscribers to access limited-edition and new flavours ahead of their release.

Pernod Ricard UK ignites festive spirit with marketing push

Pernod Ricard UK ignites festive spirit with marketing push

As December rapidly approaches, Pernod Ricard UK is ramping up its festive marketing efforts, anticipating a resurgence in consumer confidence after a challenging year. The UK’s second-largest wine and spirits supplier is set to inspire consumers to choose Premium+ Spirits as the perfect gift or the ultimate addition to any home celebration. Throughout 2024, Premium+ Spirits have consistently outperformed Standard offerings, making this higher end of the sector a vital margin driver.

“Since last Christmas, consumer confidence has been on the rise and the outlook for the final month of 2024 is positive," said Chris Shead, Off-Trade Channel Director for Pernod Ricard UK. "Gifting and hosting remain two key trends and retailers should focus on increasing space in-store for Premium Spirits that act as the perfect gift or cocktail ingredient when wanting to show off in front of friends and family. Where possible, we encourage retailers to prioritise categories that have been capturing the hearts of consumers and this year, our big winners have been Altos Tequila, Kahlúa and Bumbu Rum, and we expect our Champagnes, G.H. Mumm and Perrier-Jouët, to be the toast of choice for festive parties this year.”
