Westons Cider opens new tasting room

Westons Cider opens new tasting room

The UK’s leading authentic cider maker, Westons Cider, has announced the relocation of its shop alongside a brand-new tasting room at its historic Much Marcle mill.

Opening its doors to the public on Tuesday (3), cider lovers are invited to explore behind-the-scenes tours and enjoy cider tastings as part of an expanded visitor experience. This extensive redevelopment coincides with another record-breaking year for Westons Cider, which currently has an annual brand portfolio value of £200m at retail sales value, led by flagship brands Stowford Press and Henry Westons.

Westons’ expansion into a larger visitor space — just a minute’s walk from the original location — will enable the mill to welcome more visitors every year in a boost for the category and local economy.

Visitors can look forward to immersive tasting experiences, including "Guess the Cider" and "Tour Guide Specials" along with an exclusive chance to sample new and limited-edition products, while the newly opened tasting room boasts bar, counter, and tabletops crafted from reclaimed oak cider vats.

The opening coincides with the Autumn harvest, which is one of the best times to visit the mill and see how the cider is made.

“Our fantastic heritage ciders are continuing to experience phenomenal growth,” says Helen Thomas, Managing Director at Westons Cider. “With the opening of our new shop and tasting room, we are excited to invite everyone to experience our expanded space and enjoy our exceptional portfolio firsthand.

“This investment enables us to continue to tap into the growing interest in the category and accommodate larger groups eager to explore the traditional, authentic ciders of this beautiful corner of England.”

The official opening was marked by a celebratory day for its staff earlier in the month, with special guest Mark Atkinson, former champion of Gloucester Rugby Club – one of Westons’ key sports partnerships. Run by the fourth generation of the Weston family, the Mill sources all its apples for its famous Stowford Press and Henry Westons brands from within 50 miles.
