Westons Cider to boost retailers' sales with Haven Holidays giveaway
Stowford Press

Westons Cider, the UK’s leading authentic cider maker, has teamed up with Haven Holidays to give five lucky Stowford Press drinkers the chance to win a beautiful coastal getaway as part of an on-pack competition to drive revenue for retailers.

More than a million promotional packs of Stowford Press will be available from July across all retail channels. As cider increasingly becomes a year-round category, the competition offers an extended window to boost sales throughout summer and into the cooler months.

Currently worth £13.2m in the off-trade, Stowford Press is growing at a rate of +39.6 per cent across grocery and convenience. While the total market has experienced a -3.1 per cent decline in shopper numbers, Stowford Press is turning this trend on its head, with shopper number increasing by an impressive 15.8 per cent.

The Haven Holidays collaboration comes hot on the heels of the brand’s Big Night In giveaway which generated more than 20,000 entries, successfully driving sales and brand engagement.

To coincide with the on-pack promotion, Westons Cider is running an extensive advertising campaign including OOH media, bespoke social content and interactive in-store activity designed to reach almost 10 million people.

“No UK getaway is complete without a refreshing British cider. So, we are delighted to be teaming up with Haven Holidays to make this year’s on-pack promotion even more exciting,” says Holly Chadwick, Stowford Press Brand Manager at Westons Cider.

“We’ve no doubt a trip to one of Haven’s stunning seaside sites will be high in demand, making this competition a sure-fire way for retailers to drive cider sales.”

The promotion will run across Stowford Press Apple Cider four and 10-packs, as well as the popular price-marked four-pack, with five £1,000 holidays to any of Haven’s 38 UK sites up for grabs.

Hundreds of additional prizes can also be won, including Stowford Press 10-packs, pint glasses and branded sunglasses. To be in with a chance of winning, shoppers simply enter the promotional code from the packs on the Westons website.

Run by the fourth generation of the Weston family, Stowford Press – based in Herefordshire – also produces brands Henry Westons, Old Rosie, Rosie’s Pig and distributes Veltins German Pilsener in the UK.

Gnaw ‘new-stalgia’: pud-themed Chocolate Spoons and flavoured choc bars

Tapping into “new-stalgia” (an anticipated hot food trend in 2025), Gnaw has been working tirelessly to rethink Great British puddings by creating a number of “Hug in a Mug” classics (Crème Brulée, Bakewell Tart, Sticky Toffee Pud) in conjunction with an impressive “pudfolio” of dessert-flavoured bars: New York Cheesecake, Christmas Pudding, Banoffee Pie and Sticky Toffee Pudding.

Desserts may prove divisive. For many the last course will always be a fitting finale to a great meal spent with friends of family, enticing comfort food that offers a nostalgic peek into happy custard drenched, ice cream topped memories from yesteryear. For others, desserts are an unwitting dalliance with guilt-filled soft sponges, buttery pastry, seductively sweet fillings, crumbly toppings, sticky sauces …
