World of Sweets announces new range of Pez characters

Confectionery distributor World of Sweets has unveiled four new licenses from Pez which include Barbie, Trolls 3, Gabby’s Dollhouse and The Smurfs.

Pez candy is often referred to as a worldwide, iconic candy brand with top-selling character licenses including Paw Patrol, Marvel and Disney Princess.

New to the dispenser range is classic Barbie, which is expected to fly off the shelves in the run-up to Christmas, as the movie itself was one of the highest-grossing films of 2023. The product retails at £2.00 RRP with each pack including two Pez candy refill packs.

Fans of on-trend kids favourite Gabby’s Dollhouse will love the new character head dispensers featuring some of the show’s much-loved characters.

Gabby’s Dollhouse features within the top 5 global preschool franchises making it a must-have product for all retailers.

The loveable blue Smurfs have made a return to screens in 2023 in a recently developed TV animated series.

All the above new character dispensers retail for £2.00 with each pack containing two Pez refill sweets.

“Pez are a fun confectionery brand which always offers the best character licenses kids know and love, making them the perfect novelty treat this Christmas,” Chris Smith, partner brand manager at World of Sweets, said.

“We expect these new Pez collectables to sell fast, especially with the recent release of Trolls 3 and of course with Barbie smashing it at the Box Office last summer.

“It’s important for retailers to display the new ranges with clear POS to make the products stand out in store to interest customers looking to make their Christmas gift purchases.”

Gnaw ‘new-stalgia’: pud-themed Chocolate Spoons and flavoured choc bars

Tapping into “new-stalgia” (an anticipated hot food trend in 2025), Gnaw has been working tirelessly to rethink Great British puddings by creating a number of “Hug in a Mug” classics (Crème Brulée, Bakewell Tart, Sticky Toffee Pud) in conjunction with an impressive “pudfolio” of dessert-flavoured bars: New York Cheesecake, Christmas Pudding, Banoffee Pie and Sticky Toffee Pudding.

Desserts may prove divisive. For many the last course will always be a fitting finale to a great meal spent with friends of family, enticing comfort food that offers a nostalgic peek into happy custard drenched, ice cream topped memories from yesteryear. For others, desserts are an unwitting dalliance with guilt-filled soft sponges, buttery pastry, seductively sweet fillings, crumbly toppings, sticky sauces …
