Yoplait launches SKYR Energy with real fruit

In a bid to capitalise on the popularity of protein yoghurt, Yoplait is launching SKYR Energy, the first ever SKYR to contain real fruit pieces, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin D, be high in protein and totally fat free.

Protein yoghurt is currently the fastest growing segment of the total Chilled, Yoghurt and Dairy (CYD) category +43.6% YOY and now worth £153 million. Consumers are turning to high protein yoghurts at breakfast, but Yoplait has also identified the opportunity for SKYR Energy around snacking occasions as people seek healthier snacking alternatives to keep them fuelled for longer.

Yoplait SKYR Energy is a delicious yoghurt with a creamy texture and a unique fruity layer. Made to an original Icelandic recipe, it is high in protein and has been enriched with Vitamin D and B6 for energy. It comes in two flavours: Strawberry & Blackcurrant and Mango & Passionfruit.

“SKYR Energy is our latest innovation that truly answers a consumer trend and need," said Ewa Moxham, Head of Marketing for Yoplait UK. "Not only does our SKYR deliver on taste and consistency it offers the added benefits of vitamins and real fruit.

“SKYR Energy is totally unique and really stands out on shelf. Perfectly packaged to appeal to 25-45 health-conscious consumers looking for a tasty, filling breakfast or afternoon snack.”

Yoplait is supporting the launch of SKYR Energy with a targeted in-store and out of home campaign. Sampling in office workplaces nationwide, across London, Birmingham and Manchester, social and digital support and an influencer campaign to help drive awareness and trial.

Packaged in 2 x 140g packs, the format is ideal for breakfast or snacking with an RRP of £2.00.

Pernod Ricard UK ignites festive spirit with marketing push

As December rapidly approaches, Pernod Ricard UK is ramping up its festive marketing efforts, anticipating a resurgence in consumer confidence after a challenging year. The UK’s second-largest wine and spirits supplier is set to inspire consumers to choose Premium+ Spirits as the perfect gift or the ultimate addition to any home celebration. Throughout 2024, Premium+ Spirits have consistently outperformed Standard offerings, making this higher end of the sector a vital margin driver.

“Since last Christmas, consumer confidence has been on the rise and the outlook for the final month of 2024 is positive," said Chris Shead, Off-Trade Channel Director for Pernod Ricard UK. "Gifting and hosting remain two key trends and retailers should focus on increasing space in-store for Premium Spirits that act as the perfect gift or cocktail ingredient when wanting to show off in front of friends and family. Where possible, we encourage retailers to prioritise categories that have been capturing the hearts of consumers and this year, our big winners have been Altos Tequila, Kahlúa and Bumbu Rum, and we expect our Champagnes, G.H. Mumm and Perrier-Jouët, to be the toast of choice for festive parties this year.”
